Product Description

From the Manufacturer

High-End Performance in a Compact Low-Cost Speaker Cable Design
High performance speakers are a critical part of any high-end home theatre or music system. As the final link in the audio chain, they can make or break the way your favorite music and film soundtracks sound. But in order to get all the performance your carefully chosen speakers are capable of delivering, it's important that you connect them with the highest quality speaker cables you can afford. Thanks to MCX-1s, audiophile sound quality is now easier than ever to achieve.

Advanced M Series Technologies for the Most Accurate Transfer of Audio Signals
MCX-1s incorporates our famous Time Correct windings for the most accurate transfer of low, mid and high frequencies. And like our M Series speaker cables, it features our proprietary PEX™ dielectric for lower dynamic noise with greater clarity and high frequency detail – for ultimate realism in your favorite music and film soundtracks.

Magnetic Flux Tube Construction with a Flexible Jacket for Easy Installation
MCX-1s features a Magnetic Flux Tube in each conductor to control distortion – producing magnetic fields for exceptional clarity and improved soundstage. Multiple bundles of ultra high purity copper are specially wound around the Magnetic Flux Tube for faster transient response, wider dynamic range, more dimensional midrange, and greater power and clarity. All this performance is packed into a flexible, compact, abrasion-resistant Duraflex jacket, making MCX-1s especially easy to manage in multi-channel home theatre surround and remote speaker installations.

Convenience and Performance for Audiophile Music and Film Systems
The M Series MCX-1s combines ultimate flexibility and affordability in an audiophile quality speaker cable specially designed for high-end home theatre and music systems.

OD Size for MCX1s = 11 mm

Works well for short runs. I used the Media Bridge bananas for both ends and it worked perfect. The only complaint about the wire I have is that the insulation is super thick, but once you cut through its easy to strip the actual wire.

The cable is exactly what I needed but. In the picture it shows connectors on the ends and all I got was the sleeves not the connectors. Those connectors are the main reason I bought this product. There are three pictures of the product and clearly shows the connectors on the cable. Very disappointed about not getting the connectors. Very deceiving!!!

Needed a long distance, good quality speaker cable for my surround back speakers and these work great. The install of the jackets for monster bananas was fun and easy. The Navajo white color works well and blends with most carpets if choosing not to hide in the wall.

One reviewer stated that this wire was 16 AWG. That is false. It is 14 AWG

Monster XP, (whatever version it is) is 16 AWG.

Color is not white or Navajo white, it is light grey.

    Just the facts.

As far as sound goes I will update, once I tri-wire my new Mirage OMD 28's.

This wire is way more beefier than the XP wire.

A nice feature it has is very clear red and black tracers on the wire.

I wish they sold at least 50 foot spools, since I had to buy 4 for my wiring needs.

If it reproduces sound as good as it looks, I will highly recommend it for mid to high end setups.

I had not upgraded my speaker wire since 1986. I used this wire on to bottom end (<80Hz) of my bi-amped Vandersteen 4's which are still very good speakers. I also replaced the top end with Audioquest Type 4 cables. I was astonished at the changes in sound and imaging. Since I used the MCS-1s on the low end I can not say they made as dramatic a change. The low end was equally solid and tight but it was the high end with the AQ4s that made such a difference that I had to re-equalize the room. The most dramatic thing was the imaging ability. The Vandy's were good to begin with but this is now sensational. I attribute the imaging improvements to the AQ4's. It would be an interesting test to swap the cables and let the MCX-1s do the hi end and see if the improvements are still there. I had been using the original Monster cables, pre-made for me, from the 1986 time frame.
