Let me start by saying I have been doing Home Theater for almost 20 years so I kind of know what I am talking about here. After doing my research (unlike some reviewers) I decided on this wire and I am very glad I did. What I wanted was 12AWG OFC in a dark shielding and this fits the bill perfectly. I also loved the fact that the actual wires inside are red and black (much easier than looking for a strip). The quality of this wire for the price is unbelievable. I bought the 100ft and the 50ft to rewire all 5 of my B&W speakers. I was using RCA 14 AWG on my Marantz SR6005 and it was ok, but when I added the NAD T955 amp I knew that I had to rewire with higher gauge and quality and it made a HUGE difference. Absolutely buy this wire! Don't waste your money on over priced wire...12 AWG OFC is 12 AWG OFC no matter who's name is on it. Just make sure you know what you are getting before hand so you do not leave a negative review that is unfair. Look at the customer pics like mine to see what it is exactly that you are getting. To further help...please keep in mind that the over all wire is thick, but that is a good thing. It looks fantastic hanging down the back of a mid to large speaker. The over all diameter of the wire (which is kind of hard to tell from the pics) is about 2/3 of a dime. One guy actually gave a 2 star review because this wire is not rated for in wall even though the product description never says it is...unbelievable. If you want/need wire that is rated for in wall you need CL2 or CL3...just an FYI. I for one am very glad CTG makes a fine product at a more than fair price. I will definitely buy their products again.

    This is some seriously good quality cable. As long as you take your time stripping the jacket and wire cover (I use a Radio Shack cheap plastic coax cable stripper on the small setting and only go ONCE around), you should be able to strip the red and black covers with minimal effort. You may have to take off 1/3" at a time to avoid pulling too hard and breaking some of the copper strands. Using high-quality banana plugs or spades and some black and red heat-shrink tubing or colored electrical tape, you can get results that rival cables costing hundreds of dollars. I definitely noticed an improvement in sound, especially with transparency and imaging. This cable looks great too so you won't even want to hide it. Can't recommend this product highly enough. My only regret is that I only bought 100 feet of it. GET SOME NOW!

    I didn't think XLR cables quality and design would affect sound performance all that much but I was wrong. I first purchased these C2G cables new from Amazon but the packaging was really scuffed up and wrinkled. They were cheap so I let that go. This is my first time trying XLRs and they sounded pretty darn good. The soundstage was amazing and my speakers became this incrediblly cohesive wall of sound Since these cables were cheap and the ones I received looked used, I thought I would try higher priced cables and maybe get even better performance. So I ordered the Kopul Premier Quad Pro XLR cables with the fancier specs and Neutrik XX connectors, thinking I might get even better performance since they were twice the price of the C2G. The higher priced Kopul cables may produced slightly better imaging but they took away most of the soundstage and the wall of sound. I was really dumbfounded.
    Either the Kopul cables are defective or there is something really unique about these C2G cables. I have no clue but for now I'm definitely sticking with them.

    i called up guitar center and asked if they sold these cables, they said yes, i asked if they had them in stock, they said yes, i drove to guitar center, not only did they NOT have them in stock, i was told in person by an employee that they DON'T carry them, and that he wished that they did, he said they don't carry any XLR cables under 3 feet. that would have been nice to know prior to driving into the city specifically for this, guitar center was so desperate to get someone inside their store, that they didn't take into consideration that they need to deliver to the customer once you get them into the store, instead they guaranteed themselves one more person that refuses to ever give them any of their business ever again, and a negative review online. BUT let's not make this just about guitar center, i called up radioshack as well and the person working there didn't even know what an xlr cable was, in that case they probably should've lied so i could have faith that radioshack actually hired knowledgeable people to sell their electronic related products, however, since they were honest i will still give them by business, (but only if i have to), all of this to say, if you need an xlr cable under 3 feet amazon is the place to go, the cable works great and is exactly what i wanted, and exactly what i got

    I ordered this product instead of other similar products because the reviews were good for this one and not so good for some others. One brand was reviewed several times for being short on length of the packaged wire (getting 90-95 feet on a spool that was supposed to have 100'). I didn't order Monster cable because they're not as transparent about what the wire gauge is.

    This stuff is beefy. First, the color of the jacket (which I've read about in other reviews) is more a blue-gray than blue, but I like the color and the color of the jacket was not a concern for me anyway. The jacket is heavy and made of a product that is easy to handle (it is flexible and soft enough to be easily unspooled) and it's thick enough I would (and will) trust this to run speakers in my boat (another project than my current one) through enclosed areas and not worry about it. The inner insulation around the conductors is TOUGH. You'll want a good pair of wire strippers. The insulation on the wires is colored as shown on the item picture and makes it very easy to identify which wire is which (no little white trace line or printing on clear insulation that is near impossible to see/read). I did not measure how much wire was on the spool, but with the quality of the wiring and packaging I find it hard to believe the company would short the customers, giving bad service after so much effort to put forth a good product. The wiring is very fine-strand copper, again, very easy to work with. I cannot say if the sound is better or worse with this wire since this was a new installation and I have nothing to compare it to. But the wire is thick (12 ga) and the sound was good so I don't see a problem.

    I would (and will) buy more of this.
