First the disclaimer...I am not a regular reviewer of any products I buy; but I have been drawn to this one by Shoptronics' offer to extend the warranty one year. So in a sense I am being "paid" to share my thoughts. That said, be assured that the following are strictly my thoughts and in no way influenced by monetary considerations. It is worth somewhat more than the price. I am a gadget junkie,(more than a music lover), accustomed to listening to many musical styles reproduced in various ways. I like the sound and ease of use of this one. Bass is reasonably full and free of distortion. Highs are not spectacular by any means, but, hey, neither is the price.Appearance is as advertised...making a presentable piece of furniture that even the wife is willing to show off.One minor disappointment...Our unit arrived with a cracked lower corner in the frame, most likely done at the factory as the crack was filled with white glue showing in very thin lines. It was not visible enough to warrant expense of shipping it back, so we made no attempt to contact customer service, but the lapse in quality control is worth noting. In general the Winston Record Player deserves a look by anyone shopping in this price range.

Electrohome Winston Vinyl Record Player 4-in-1 Classic Turntable Natural Wood Stereo System, AM/FM Radio, CD, and AUX Input for Smartphones, Tablets, and MP3 players (EANOS501)

Being raised in the 40's and 50's, I was naturally exposed to the recording artists of that time. During WWII, I was a small boy, being raised in a very small town, and have vivid memories of the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. One of the most cherished of those memories was "getting out (our mostly) Bing Crosby, Perry Como, and Gene Autry Christmas records". Of course, these were the old vinyl 78 rpm (quite breakable, and quite easily scratched!)type. To make that 'issue' even more memorable in today's world, letting that small boy handle and play those records only added to the familiar 'sound', which is now somewhat coveted in the digital age, where that 'feature' is non-existent!

Now at 72 years of age, and with those wonderful Holidays again approaching, I decided to relive these old memories. So firing up my old desktop computer, and doing an Internet Search, Voila', I not only found the 'Original' Bing Crosby and Perry Como Christmas albums, but they were complete and in VG++ condition! "Wonderful find" I said to myself. So immediately after purchasing both, I set out to find a phonograph on which to play these old Holiday treasures! Being a Premier Amazon.com member since they instituted that program, and having a history of always going to Amazon for everything to meet my needs, naturally that's where I began.

Well, it took about one minute to discover the "Electrohome Winston Vinyl Record Player". The vintage appearance is what first caught my eye, since it does look like the radios and phonographs of 1940's era. My first reaction was that looking at Amazon's price of this item, it couldn't really be of the quality for which I am always looking. But then, reading the customer reviews (4 1/2 out of 5 stars), this product truly piqued my interest. I did read many, not all, but seeing the satisfaction level of the 100+ reviews was extremely high, based upon not only appearance but performance, my short search was over.

Now for the best news. In value for price, this product far surpasses what I expected, even after reading the five-star reviews. It is actually made from 'real wood'! It truly does possess the appearance of an original vintage phonograph, which certainly stimulates the nostalgia of that period in all of us.

I quickly unpacked it, set it upon the spot in my family room which I had already predetermined, and proceeded to play my first selection; "White Christmas". Amazingly, the slight 'scratching' sound was quite desirable since, in my memory, that is how all of the 78 rpm records sounded after a few days of handling! I say 'desirable' since being a very nostalgic and sentimental person, it truly took me back in time. Even though I purchased it primarily for playing the old 78's, having the other added features of playing CD's, AM/FM Radio, and a handy auxiliary input were just 'icing on the cake'!

All in all, I am more than five-star pleased with all of the qualities of this product; appearance, quality, and pricing! A very satisfactory purchase that I will readily recommend to anyone looking for this, or related product.

I'm so excited about this I had to write a review. With all the mixed reviews I wasn't sure how I would feel about this record player. I've been pleasantly surprised and happy with this purchase!
It looks great and it plays so much better than I imagined . I followed the instructions by taking off the stylus cover and made sure to screw down the transit screw and we were listing to records I haven't heard in so long.
I taught my seven year old son how to use it . I was happy to see there was a Cue lever. SO nice! My teenage son wanted to try the AUX cord which worked great also . The plug for the AUX is in the BACK of the device. Next to the on/off switch. The front is for headphones which also worked excellent even with my young sons off brand headphones. Cd player also, to my surprise, worked fantastic with an old CD I had laying around. The sound is decent . It doesn't have much base or sound like anything that were use to hearing today but it still is loud and sounds good. My real reason for purchasing this was for the record player alone and all the other stuff is a added bonus.
This is something my boys will remember for a long time!

I have been in search of a reasonably priced and good quality turntable for quite some time since I have so many albums from my younger days. I researched so many different brands on Amazon and other sites. I then read some of the many wonderful reviews of this product and decided to purchase this item, and I have to say I am extremely happy I did. It came very well packaged and was easy to set up. I love the vintage look. I enjoy the radio and cd player, but I am really enjoying the turntable. I am very satisfied with the sound quality and the volume is more than adequate for my needs. I've only had this unit a couple weeks, but I've already enjoyed listening to so much music that was lost to me for so long. If you are looking for a good quality product at a reasonable price so you can bring back some wonderful memories, I would highly recommend this system.

I order this as a gift, but it did not make it in time because of "shipping back up on the coast" it came a week late. This alone would have made me rate it two stars because they did not tell me what was going on, I had to contact them, and plus the fact it makes me question where my product is from; however the customer service was outstanding, replied immediately and addressed my concerns. As for the product, it really is beautiful, sound was decent maybe even good, but like any electronic product the more you spend, the better the sound, so you get what you pay. Like other reviewers have said about it skipping on newer records, we did experience it once, it was not a problem it was at the beginning and we both thought it was the needle weighing it down and causing a delay. I'm okay with it because it wwas minor, but you may want to put it into consideration.

Overall it's really amazing to look at and watch, sounds good, radio works great, and it just an overall unique, decent priced product! I rated it short of five stars due to the questionable delivery and sound, even though it was as expected, it would be nice to have a little better sound quality. But after searching and reading all reviews I really do believe this is the best choice for this price range, and would recommend anyone buying it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Effortless Elegant Electrohome
Reviewed in Canada on January 3, 2014
This beautiful Electrohome 3-1 Wood Stereo System arrived late Christmas Eve afternoon. Was so surprised to see it. This Electrohome is absolutely beautiful to look at. The wood casing is rich & gorgeous & the brass coloured plate displaying the various functions adds to the feeling of another time when things were made with elegance & style. I read all the reviews posted before making this purchase. Having said that I am sooooo glad I bought this Electrohome unit. It plays all my CD's perfectly. The AM/FM radio is great too once you find the right direction for your antenna. The turn table was very simple & straight forward to set up & at my age you want simple. For the price I paid for this system it is a 110% winner. It looks & sounds beautiful. Much much more than I expected. Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful way to listen to our record collection and then some!
Reviewed in Canada on November 10, 2016
This product met all of our expectations and even surpassed them in some respects. The wood cabinet itself is very well built and reminiscent of times gone by. The vintage appearance is well executed and the sound is very rich. It was delivered quickly and setting it up was simple. We've enjoyed some of our original records from the 60s and 70s as well as classical music. The sound is quite rich. The CD also works like a charm. Although I do wish it had USB input, I did have the proper cable to allow us to also listen to music via our iPhone and iPad. We've been using it for weeks and have only positive things to say about it.

Very pleased with the unit. The cabinet is beautiful and gives that vintage look I was hoping for. The first one I ordered came in terrible condition. One whole side completely smashed. Amazon were amazing in their ease of return and refund. Reordered and this one is perfect. Sounds awesome and I'm loving playing all my old vinyl records. Radio and CD player are all fine. Just love the way the whole thing looks, and it adds a little touch of the past to my to my room.

3.0 out of 5 stars Expected better sound
Reviewed in Canada on December 27, 2017
After reading through reviews, etc. I decided on this player for my husband. It is solid and nice but the sound is kind of muffled like it is in a box. Overall it is nice. The functions on the dial part are very hard to read, ie. am, fm, cd, etc. as they blend in with the metal. Should be darker. The record player is nice and sounds good.
